Nigeria going to FIFA’s Hope Festival 2010 – Football for Social Change

“Reuter’s Africa Journal meets a rising star from one of the world’s best street soccer teams, who will fly Nigeria’s colours”during the 2010 Football for Hope Festival.

FIFA’s Hope Festival  will be held for two weeks on the sidelines of the World Cup.  Over 50 organizations were involved in the creation of teams for the tournament that are made of a mix of girls and boys aged 15 to 18.  Unlike the FIFA World Cup the games will have no referees.  Disputes will be handled by teams together through dialogue. FIFA hopes that the 32 teams involved in the tournament will help represent the power of the game for social change.
